The 220V AC is stepped down by a C1 step-down capacitor and then rectified by a full bridge and then filtered by C2. The current limiting resistor R3 is connected to 10 in series. The SMD LED provides a constant current supply. The rated current of the SMD LED is 20mA, but we must consider the influence of many factors on the SMD LED when making the energy-saving lamp, including the problem of light decay and heat. The temperature of the LED has a great influence on the light decay and the life. If the heat dissipation is not good, it is easy to produce light decay. Because the characteristics of the LED are increased by the temperature, the current will increase. Therefore, the problem of heat dissipation during high-power illumination is the most important, which will affect the stability of the LED. Generally, the self-heating method is adopted, so the current should not be too large in the circuit design. In the figure, R1 is the protection resistor, R2 is the discharge resistor of capacitor C1, R3 is the current limiting resistor to prevent the voltage from rising and the temperature rises. The current of the LED increases. C2 is the filter capacitor. Actually, the filter circuit can be omitted in the LED circuit. C2 is used to prevent damage to the LED caused by the inrush current when the lamp is turned on. The moment of turning on the lamp will have a large charging current due to the presence of C1. The current flowing through the LED will damage the LED, and the intervention of C2 The charging current of the light-on lamp is completely absorbed by C2 to protect the light from opening. The circuit is the most practical circuit of the small power lamp cup, and the small size can be conveniently installed in the lamp cup with small space, and is now widely used by the lamp cup product. Advantages: Constant current source, low power consumption, small size, economical and practical. However, in designing, the step-down capacitor should use a polyester capacitor or CBB capacitor with a withstand voltage of 400V or higher, and the filter capacitor should have a withstand voltage of 250v or more.
For capacitors or CBB capacitors, filter capacitors must have a withstand voltage of 250V or higher. This circuit is suitable for driving 20-40 20mA LEDs.
