GT Solar Becomes Supplier of Mega Crystal LED Sapphire Material

[High-tech LED News] GT Solar International, Inc. and Taiwan Zhaojing Technology Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement, GT Solar will supply sapphire crystal rods for Zhaojing.

Zhaojing has always had a successful long-term relationship with GT Solar. The company hopes to increase the production of epitaxial wafers with GT Solar sapphire materials while meeting high standards of quality to meet the growing needs of customers.

GT Solar said the company's new sapphire production equipment can provide more high-quality sapphire materials for LED and professional market sapphire customers. It also emphasizes that its proprietary 'Advanced Sapphire Furnace' produces superior quality sapphire and supports the growing customer base in the next year.

According to GT Solar, its sapphire materials can meet the needs of LED and professional market customers at the beginning, but in the long run, with the company's equipment customers investing in mass production, GT expects to produce most of the sapphire to be used in the following fields. New growth in the market, including high-energy laser devices, medical devices, and applications in the aerospace and defense industries that require large-area substrates.
