The relevant person in charge of Zhongshan Inspection and Quarantine Bureau said that despite the rapid growth of energy-saving products such as LED, the LED lighting products exported from Zhongshan are mainly based on downstream assembly, and the core technology is basically dependent on imports, resulting in high cost; many enterprise product development is limited to On the higher-priced commercial lighting and outdoor lighting, attention is not paid to the home lighting of mainstream products. The state's subsidy policy for such products is unclear, and some product industrial designs are simply rigid.

For the existing problems and the sluggish international market environment, Zhongshan Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has fully assisted the LED lighting export enterprises in the jurisdiction to speed up the transformation and upgrading, including selecting the industry benchmarks to support and strengthen the strong, and adopting the “type test inspection + batch inspection + security Regular sampling and other methods to shorten the cycle, reduce costs, promote the rapid clearance of LED lighting exports, etc., while building a public technology platform to inject new impetus into the long-term development of the industry.

The value of lighting products exported by Zhongshan City in 2011 was about 1.345 billion U.S. dollars, down 0.2% from the same period of last year. However, LED lamps have outstanding performance under the conditions of the international market downturn. In 2011, exports reached 1232 batches, and 40.12 million U.S. dollars. The value of goods increased by 25.4% year-on-year.
