LED lamps are widely used in automotive electronics, indoor and outdoor decoration, advertising design and other industries due to their long life, high efficiency, bright colors and fast lighting speed. The rapidly expanding market demand has led to the booming of the entire LED industry chain, and the technical threshold for the production of LED lights has been gradually reduced. A large number of small and medium-sized enterprises have sprung up, and various products have begun to flood the market. After the initial explosive growth, the competition among enterprises has changed from “quantity” to “quality”. The important part of measurement and testing has begun to be valued by many manufacturers. So, what kind of convenience can RIGOL provide to users in this field? Below we show a series of test and measurement solutions from the research, development, production and application of the LED industry chain.

1. LED luminescence characteristics research
Research institutes such as universities, research institutes, and enterprise laboratories related to LEDs often need to study the luminescent properties of LEDs. Two types of equipment are generally required in this study:
Optical measuring equipment such as integrating spheres, spectrometers, etc.
Electrical measuring equipment

The main function of the electrical measuring device is to provide a stable driving power for the LED lamp and a driving power supply with an arbitrary adjustable driving waveform, and to monitor the driving power supply. In this application field, from the DG3000 signal source of RIGOL, to the current DG5000 , it is favored by the majority of users. At present, the widely adopted configuration schemes for engineers are:
DG5072 function arbitrary waveform generator to provide PWM modulation waveform. This instrument can provide 1uHz ~ 50MHz, duty cycle 0% ~ 100% arbitrarily adjustable PWM drive waveform;
PA1011 power amplifier to amplify the PWM signal power to provide a maximum output power of 10W;
DS2072A digital oscilloscope, mainly used to observe various signal waveforms such as driving

2. LED power supply development and production testing
As a traditional industry, the power supply is relatively sound. However, there are some new requirements for the power supply of LED lights, mainly focusing on cost. The cost of LED lamps is much higher than that of ordinary energy-saving lamps, and the lighting beads and heat dissipation cannot be simplified. Therefore, many small and medium-sized enterprises simplify the power supply modules as much as possible. Therefore, how to use the most streamlined solution to make suitable and heat-dissipating LED power modules becomes an important topic.
In the part of power supply R & D design, RIGOL has designed the "Ultra Power Analyzer" power analysis software for the engineers. With the RIGOL DS4000 digital oscilloscope and voltage and current probes, the test and analysis of the overall performance of the power supply can be completed.
