LED light source is expensive - high density COB

With the increasingly fierce competition in the commercial application field of LED lamps, the structure of LED lamps with smaller size, higher performance and higher reliability has become the goal pursued by the commercial lighting industry.

The traditional LED light source adopts the gold wire connection package structure, and the gold wire is easily damaged by the external force and the colloidal thermal expansion and contraction of the light source itself, resulting in a dead light, and the traditional LED light source (including COB ) has a large luminous surface, matching the small angle secondary optics. When the device is used, the luminaire is bulky and it is not convenient to optimize the appearance of the luminaire structure.

Under this trend, high-density COB with high-intensity beam output characteristics and no gold wire package structure has become a dazzling star among many LED light sources, and has been widely used in the field of high-end commercial lighting.

At present, there are three major companies in the market to launch high-density COB series products, namely Cree CREE CXA HD series, Toyo TOYONIA YOLL HR series, and Citizen CITIZEN HI series.

In the three high-density COB series products, three more common models are selected for comparative analysis for readers' reference.

It can be seen from the above comparison that the application parameters of the three products are not very different, but compared with the conventional COB, the application power of the unit light-emitting surface is greatly improved.

At present, Ramminus and Puri Bridgelux have also launched or will soon launch high-density COB series products. No domestic packaging companies have officially launched, the technology gap is obvious, and relevant research and development investment needs to be strengthened.
