Li Ke, director of the Information Exchange Department of the China Semiconductor Industry Association, said that the LED penetration rate in China is still not high, and the biggest problem is cost. At present, the cost of LED lighting fixtures is about 3-5 times that of ordinary light sources, and many Chinese people are difficult to change quickly in concept. However, the acceleration of global industry transfer to emerging countries and regions will also bring new development opportunities to China's LED industry.
With the continuous maturity of the foreign LED market and increasing competition in the industry, the global LED industry has seen a new trend of shifting from Europe and the United States to the Asia-Pacific region. The world's LED giants such as Cree and Osram have settled in China. While sharing China's huge market, they have also brought world-leading manufacturing technology and production technology.
In contrast, although China's local LED companies started late, they have grown stronger over the years and began to attack the high-end market. In August 2011, Tsinghua Tongfang invested more than 3 billion yuan in the LED industry base in Jiangsu Province, and began to produce high-brightness LEDs, breaking the shackles of LED core components monopolized by foreign countries.

Driven by this kind of thinking, China has emerged many LED leading companies in recent years. Shifu Optoelectronics, Huaguang Lighting, and Sunda Electronics occupy half of the domestic LED street lamp market. Shanxi Guangyu has a first-mover advantage in LED downhole lighting. Wuhan Diyuan Optoelectronics' high-power LED chips have reached the world's leading level. Chinese local enterprises have gained recognition in the domestic market with their technical strength and good cost performance.

CCID Consulting's evaluation also believes that with the attraction and promotion of the market, the pace of LED technology will continue to accelerate, and the production cost will fall at an average annual rate of 30, which will greatly shorten the cycle of replacing traditional LED lamps with LED lamps. .

The development of technology and processes has made it possible to reduce costs. Li Ke said that as prices have fallen, more and more older generations of Chinese have begun to accept LEDs. The market share of this new type of light source is increasing year by year.

In fact, China’s new policy has also greatly benefited the LED industry. In August of this year, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China released the 12th Five-Year Plan for Semiconductor Lighting. It is proposed that by 2015, the scale of China's semiconductor lighting industry will reach 500 billion yuan, and its share in the general lighting market will reach 30; from October this year, China has already It is forbidden to import and sell incandescent lamps of 100 watts or more. By 2016, all incandescent lamps of 15 watts or more will be eliminated.
